The dead have had enough of being dead, and a zombie epidemic is sweeping across the country. The future of the world depends on a small, diverse group of humans trapped in a shopping mall. They must keep their heads cool and their guns loaded as they face a world of horror. With a little quick thinking, a few headshots, and a little luck, they might just make it out alive—or end up as lunch. To win, players must survive and complete three objectives before time runs out.

The game takes place on the 9 mall tiles, which are laid out in the center of the table. During turns, players (who have special abilities depending on their character) will move from the central lobby to the different locations to collect items and try to complete objectives that will give them victory. However, after each turn, the zombie horde will continue to grow, harassing the survivors non-stop.

Each player has a marker on their card that keeps track of two essential resources: wounds and ammunition. When they suffer wounds, a player advances the token on the marker to the right and when they use up ammunition, they move the bullet token back to the left. If at any time the two tokens are in the same position, the human player is eaten alive. This indicates that the character is too weak or does not have enough equipment to survive. It is vital to always have ammunition!

In the different game variants, participants can decide whether they want to face the zombie threat by working as a team, so that the zombies' actions are managed by the game mechanics themselves, or if they want one player to control them and face the rest. They can also opt for a competitive mode, in which each player goes it alone. Either way, Little Big Zombies offers a very interesting challenge to any gaming group in a compact and economical format. Will you manage to survive the zombie apocalypse?
