Karvi
You are a Jarl, and you travel the northern seas to achieve immortal glory. Under the sails of your own ship, you will lead your crew, fight and trade with foreign cultures, and strengthen your crew's capabilities by upgrading your ship and hiring stronger warriors.
Designed by Torgeir Tjong and illustrated by Ingram Schell, Karvi can be enjoyed by couples or groups of up to 4 players, ages 12 and up, in games lasting around 120 minutes. The goal of the game is to become the most famous and important Jarl of all time.
Each turn, you use your dice to perform various actions: you can trade or plunder, you can replenish your reserves and become stronger, or you can improve your ship and crew. In the meantime, you can travel with your ship to remote locations, build towers and trading posts, or gather more information about your enemies. Some of these glorious adventures will be recorded on rune stones, while others will require less significant victory points.
Whether you want to establish new trade routes to obtain rare goods, or fight distant settlements to plunder their riches, the path to glory is yours to choose. Just don't forget to stock up on ale, so you'll have enough supplies to outwit competing clans. Good planning will make you famous throughout the world and secure you a place in Norse legends as a fearless Jarl.
Whether you're drawn to Viking-themed games or enjoy Euro-style game mechanics such as resource management or dice-based worker placement, Karvi has a lot to offer. In addition to the well-crafted graphics, the high-quality components (no plastic, with cardboard chests included to store everything neatly and save time during setup) make for a highly immersive experience. Karvi also features an advanced mode and rulebook suggestions to modify the rules to suit players' needs, should they want a more challenging gaming experience. Embark on a unique adventure with your crew and prepare to forge a legend worthy of the greatest Viking exploits.
