Elves, men and dwarves of the Free Peoples, charge! The hordes of the Shadow march stronger than ever on Middle-earth. In this War of the Ring expansion. In the card game you will enjoy all the excitement of the basic game alone or cooperatively. Players will take the Free Peoples and play the same way they did in the base game, but the Shadow decks are replaced by the cards from this expansion, which are adapted for solo or cooperative play.

The box includes 60 new Shadow faction cards (Isengard, Monsters, Southmen and Mordor), 6 new location cards (4 paths and 2 battlefields), and two automated game diagrams. These diagrams are what guide the actions of the Shadow, so that it works autonomously like a bot.

This expansion can be used with any base box scenario. You can play the Trilogy scenario alone, carrying both Free Peoples decks, or cooperating with a teammate. The Fellowship of the Ring and Duel scenarios are intended for solo play only.In War of the Ring. The card game, each player uses their own deck of cards, with characters and artifacts unique to their group of factions. On the one hand, the Free Peoples will fight to defend their ancestral lands and protect the paths, in the hope that Frodo will reach Mount Doom and destroy the One Ring. On the other hand, the Shadow players will try to attack quickly while undermining the hobbits' trust and corrupting the ring bearer with their darkness.

If you're already familiar with the base game, this expansion will revolutionize your games. With the renewal of the Shadow decks, you will face new threats never seen before. Plus, with the automated system monitoring your opponent's actions, you'll be challenged—part of the fun is tricking the Shadow's minions into making bad decisions.
