Azul invites tile artists to embellish the walls of the Royal Palace of Évora. When Manuel I the Fortunate, King of Portugal, visited the Alhambra Palace, he was captivated by the imposing beauty of the decoration, made up of ceramic tiles of Arab origin, which were called “azulejos”. Still fascinated by the splendour of the interior of the Alhambra, upon his return to Portugal he immediately ordered that the walls of his palace in Évora be decorated in the same way. Choose your strategy carefully to become the king’s favourite artist!
